JMatic 2.0
Connects S5 and S7 PLC plattform independent with Java!

Langner Communications AG has developed a 100% pure Java based software environment for communication between internet applications and automation components: JMatic gives you direct access via TCP/IP to the Siemens Simatic S7 PLC, one of the most widely used industrial controllers. In conjunction with the gateway 3964NET from Langner, the software environment also supports the communication via internet/ethernet with the Siemens Simatic S5. Langners software environment is exclusively based on the specifications of Sun Microsystems Java™ technology, being the established standard for platform independent applications and data processing via the internet. JMatic is thereby the key to integrating automated data into any internet application, ranging from databases to browser based visualization software.

Nowadays, the processing, filing and analysing of critical automated data is no longer limited to isolated systems. Today automated data must be a part of the information infrastructure of an organization. Using ethernet and internet in the industrial automation opens up brand new possibilities. IT and automation systems that were originally held firmly apart are now brought together, as the uniform TCP/IP protocol solves all communication problems.

100% pure Java
The Langner software environment meets all specifications for the Java platform required by Sun Microsystems. JMatic is consequently based exclusively on the Java core APIs and thereby able to run on every Java Virtual Machine, independent of platform.

Internet connection for Siemens Simatic S5
Together with the gateway 3964NET JMatic is furthermore able to access the Siemens Simatic S5. The intelligent gateway from Langner connects serial RS-232 port devices easily and seamlessly with the ethernet, processing the 3964R protocol serial port completely independently. The user data is then transmitted to ethernet via TCP. Incoming TCP/IP datagrams are passed on to the serially connected device using the 3964R protocol.
